“There is nothing more beautiful than
the human spirit”

I am a licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist. I have nearly 20 years of clinical experience both in office and online. I use a variety of therapeutic approaches, including, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Exposure and Prevention Therapy. I am certified in EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing). I have also had EMDR myself after a traumatic event in my life, so I can advise you with personal experience, as well as, professional experience on this treatment for trauma. I believe in it wholeheartedly, although it is not for every client. We would evaluate that together for you. I have focused a large part of my practice on women specifically and thoroughly enjoy working with women of all ages!

Open, honest, asking the hard questions with compassion
When you enter into therapy with me, you have come to A Safe Place. I will push you to grow, while always being aware of what you've been through and how important that is. I am confident, well-equipped and honored to go with you on your journey to healing!
My first career, although short-lived, was middle school English teacher. Yeah, I know! But it was the beginning of my desire to work with people. I remember my first day of school when I had a kid named Brandon in first hour for the first time. Later that day, Brandon walked by me in the hallway and I said, ”Hi Brandon!” After all these years, I still remember his shock and disbelief as he almost shouted, “You remembered my name!” I loved that moment!
That’s what it’s all about to me. Connecting with people, whether it be a middle school boy back then or now my amazing women clientele!
This is me
So, things I like to have in my world besides my children: yoga and my yoga instructor, massages and my massage therapist, a sound bath if I get the chance, our maltipoo puppies, my great friends, studying the brain and trauma, decorating my house, coconut everything, good smells everywhere, Christmas, going to the beach, traveling when I can and always looking forward to Summer!
I can’t wait to learn more about you!
The three lights of my life are the three adult children whom it was my privilege to have raised, but who have also held me up through a major life-changing tragedy in our lives that disabled their dad, my husband. When you go through trauma together, well, it can do many things, but we have been so lucky to come out still loving each other’s company!
